Movie List: Rom-Coms

Rom-com would always be my favorite film genre. I torture myself with laughing then crying then laughing again at too-good-to-be-true love stories of too-good-to-be-true characters, and drool over their wtf-sooo-fucking-6-pack-hot main lead. And then wish I was the girl. Read: oh good lord movies giving me movie standards and expectations irl.
For the people who like to Netflix and chill.
For those who have time to waste.
For the maybe brokenhearted.
For the hopeless romantic. (For the hopeless.)
For you who is laying sideways stuck with your computer for hours now with one hand scrolling through this screen.

And for some of that feel good atmosphere we could all use. Popcorns out. Staying in.
Here’s a list of my must watch rom-com movies. Because I still (and will forever still) love romantic comedies despite whatever reason.

+ Putting my GIF making practice to some use. Yay!

  1. Two Night Stand
  2. Stuck In Love
  3. What’s Your Number
  4. How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days
  5. Friends With Benefits
  6. 17 Again
  7. 10 Things I Hate About You – a zoom in on the poem from the movie here
  8. John Tucker Must Die
  9. Made of Honor
  10. When in Rome

And I have runner-ups as well. Because my list kept getting longer and longer–and it’s so difficult (and painful) to cut down. Apparently, I watch a lot of movies pala. LOL. I always thought I watched series more.
Anyway, if you’ve watched everything above, maybe check Easy A (sings I’ve got a pocket, got a pocketful of sunshine), Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist (also a book–gooood!), Letters to JulietThe Other WomanPaper Towns (John Green wew–wrote a few quotes over here), It’s a Boy Girl ThingLegally BlondeKnight and Day (always on Star Movies!), Notting Hill (classic!), Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind–and Google can name a whole lot more, but these are the ones I keep re-watching. And probably can recite the lines too!

Are any of your faves here? Recommend me some more to binge watch with a tub of ice cream?

Credits given to owners of the respective movie posters, screencaps and/or clips.

AHHH TWO NIGHT STAND IS MY CURRENT FAVOURITE. I love Miles Teller. Miles Teller should be present in all movies. Hehehe. Have you seen About Time? The Spectacular Now is good as well. Anddd Crazy, Stupid Love, because we all need some Ryan Gosling. Also, girl, you are very creative with your gifs and illustrations!

    • Yes, yes, and yes! Haha. I’ve watched the movies you mentioned and liked The Spectacular Now. Mostly because of Miles Teller too! Haha. Fangirl. :)) Funny he’s with Shailene Woodley there, then they’re co-stars again in Divergent. Thanks a lot Pia! ❤️

I can’t remember when I last watched a rom-com movie haha I like suspense movies now haha
On your list, I only watched a few, and some I didn’t like haha I’m not going to mention anymore because a lot of people seemed to like those haha
I’ll check some and see if I can get them somewhere so I can watch 🙂

    • Can’t watch suspense/horror movies alone–I get nightmares. But when I watch them with someone, I just keep laughing and waiting for people’s sudden reactions. Haha.
Hopefully you’ll get to find one that you’ll like from this list. I have to admit, I am “mababaw” with movies. As long as it makes me laugh or has me accompanying a happy memory to it, I’m good! :))

  • the movies you listed are the kind of movies I love to watch! your gif is creative.
Two night stand was unexpectedly hilarious and romantic

    • Thanks Kandice! ❤️ And YAS for Two Night Stand! There were just too many funny moments–the snow, the need to go the toilet, the jail. HAHA. It was crazy but crazy good. 🙂

  • John Tucker Must Die is absolutely hillarious!!! I remember chancing upon this movie while flicking through local channels. Even though it’s a little bit dated — 10 years old now — it’s still one of the best romcoms ever. 🙂

    • Yes! There was a time I always chance upon it either on Star Movies or HBO while flicking through channels, and I’ll stop when I see it and watch again. ❤️

  • I love rom-cons too! 🙂 Makes you feel kilig even if you have a non-existent lovelife. Haha I stumbled upon your blog and I love your gif! So creative! 🙂

    • Thanks Miera! The kilig is real. Haha. You cannot not fall for the funny guy! 🙂

  • I have to admit that I don’t really watch a lot of rom coms, but I LOOOVE John Tucker Must Die, Letters to Juliet and Nick and Norah’s!! Still have to watch the rest haha

    • I love John Tucker Must Die! Looking back, I think it’s what got me into rom-com. 😀

  • Your GIF making skills is, Lou! I’ve only watched 17 Again, Easy A, Nick and Norah’s…, Letters to Juliet and Legally Blonde from your list and I claim to like rom coms. Huhuhu. Adding the rest to my list of movies I have to watch before the year ends!

    • Still getting there but THANKS RICHEL! ❤️ Sana kiligin ka ng sobra sobra watching these movies. Haha. I check, it’s run by a fave of mine–Maine Manalansan, for other genres and when I feel like watching a new movie. You might find some more that you’ll like there. 😀

  • I love rom-coms too! Thank you for suggesting those other movies Lou! I’m surely gotta watch it. 🙂

    • Rom-coms 5eveeer! I’m bad at watching drama movies since I won’t be able to get over them even days after. So I stick to the funny. Haha. Thanks too, Ashley!
