Joining The 100 Day Project

100DayProject 1

This year, I’ve decided to join The 100 Day Project by Elle Luna.

So, what is The 100-Day Project?
The Great Discontent explains it as a celebration of process that encourages everyone to participate in 100 days of making. The great surrender is the process; showing up day after day is the goal. For the 100-Day Project, it’s not about fetishising finished products—it’s about the process.

Mostly I’ve been doing portraits–trying to practice, and hopefully, find my style. But I don’t want to limit myself, and as it says, I just want to make something everyday.
Currently, it’s day 5 so here’s a quick run through of how I’ve been doing.

100DayProject 3

I was in between breaks of watercoloring my day 1 portraits when I stumbled upon Instagram posts about #The100DayProject and decided I’ll give it a go. 100 Days. I’ve had food cravings longer than that (a.k.a. me wanting authentic hainanese chicken, lol, k!). But probably never had any serious sht (is Pokemon considered serious sht? I take it very seriously. And can last way more than 100 days.) of dedication that long. So anyway, a challenge. Bring it on!

Yesterday, I scheduled a craft day for Hey Kessy interns (Day 4). We made washi tape projects: specifically, magnets and bookmarks. And realized how I miss having people over at my place. Somebody make projects with me! But it was fun to stray away from my usual marker and watercolor for a day. Now I’m just thinking of what I’ll be making today.

If you want to follow my day to day making, you can check my Instagram, @lscrms, or the hashtag, #LMakes100. Really wishing I’ll stick through ’til day 100!
Why not join in too? You need not be an artist, you just have to make everyday. Maybe make memories, then post photos; whatever your forte or choice. If you’ve been doing the challenge or decide to do it, comment your hashtag so I can check them out. Love seeing others’ take on #The100DayProject!
