Weekend Staycation at Vista Tala, Bataan

How’s your Holy Week break been going? My fam’s on the religious side and we observe those masses and church events during Holy Thursdays until Easter Sunday. So it’s been a family thing to stay in during the Holy Week. I don’t really have much of a choice but to follow–but it’s not all that bad. Yes, now that I don’t have a school summer break, I am kind of jealous of seeing out of country trips on long weekends like this, and how many times have I checked the calendar for the next weekend that’s just as long, but staycationing right now would do. Also, having all these free time at home means I get to catch up on editing and posting, which reminds me of our last staycation.

It’s been a while since I’ve gone somewhere out with the fam. It’s usually me travelling alone or with friends. A few weeks ago though, we got to go to Bataan for my birthday weekend. It’s not much, but I needed the escape. And who would want to be stuck in the office for their birthday right?!

My go-to drive place would be Las Casas which is also in Bataan, or La Union (beach bum forever) but my mom’s been eyeing this resort for quite some time so when she asked if we wanted to go, and she finally saw my birthday as an excuse for it, I mean, why not? Plus, it’s advertised to be cold there. Got to get out of this intense Manila heat wave!

Vista Tala is more on the mountainous side of Bataan, but surprisingly, the drive wasn’t at all bad. Coming from Pampanga (my hometown), it took just about an hour and a half. It’s a good place for a retreat! Or for when you need to unwind and get away from the hassle and hustle. It was a relaxing place to stay for the weekend. I only have the shower to complain about–the bathroom was so small. And I’m very picky with toilets and baths. Like when I get to build my own house, for sure my T&B’s bigger than my bedroom. Also, they only do cash transactions right now. (Good thing we checked Trip Advisor reviews for this beforehand.) It’s not yet that developed. Other than those two, all is well!
